Multilingual words of welcome emblazoned on Northart’s window frontage invite all visitors into the gallery. Located in the heart of the Northcote Shopping Centre, alongside the library in the Kaipatiki region of Auckland’s North Shore, Northart is just ten minutes from downtown Auckland, with plenty of free parking and bus stops nearby.

The gallery provides an accessible and community focussed programme of contemporary art exhibitions by emerging and established, local and national artists and a public programme of events, classes and artist talks.

We aspire to encourage the practice and appreciation of the arts create a welcoming inclusive environment for artists from different backgrounds and at different stages in their practice. Northart embraces the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi’s principles of partnership, participation and protection.
