Taupuni Ako/Learning Studio and Community Room

Nau mai haere mai ki tō tātou Taupini Mahi Toi.

“Ma te huruhuru, ka rere te manu”

Welcome to our studio – a space for everyone.

“Adorn the bird with feathers so it can fly.”

This is where manuhiri (guests) are free to create without judgement. Every mark you make has worth, even if you don't think so at the time - so you are invited to wave goodbye to self doubt or misgivings about your own creativity. Everyone is welcome – adults, teens, children, experienced artists or those who have never drawn or painted before. Be inspired when you come and share our community art space.

This is a place to learn and grow. Visitors, guest artists and educators are encouraged to blossom and stretch those creative wings after leaving.

Each activity includes an introduction to an artist’s work or an artistic style along with step by step instructions for parents to guide their child through a creative activity thoughtfully prepared by our Northart educators.

These activities are suitable for a range of ages under parent supervision using simple art supplies from home.

We hope that you enjoy this complimentary art education activity and look forward to seeing your creations!
