Personal Effects on Arts Diary

More superb images from Artsdiary and Sait Akkirman of our Personal Effects exhibition - on until 11 May.

Works by some of the major figures in New Zealand art history will be amongst the treasure trove of paintings, photographs, sculpture, ceramics, antiques and other memorabilia kindly loaned to Northart by the gallery’s community of members, friends and supporters for this fascinating exhibition. It’s a rare opportunity to view paintings by, amongst others, Frances Hodgkins, Sir Peter Siddell and Tony Fomison, alongside ceramics by Barry Brickell and Len Castle, early New Zealand photographs by the Burton Brothers, and a collection of 1970s/1980s protest posters. A handmade and embroidered christening gown from 1915, textiles from Malcolm Harrison, some superb masks and other sculptural pieces from around the world are also included. The show runs daily from 10am to 4pm.
